Day 2.
Today I began the day with staff introductions and general rules at the Pillow which then led to a historical tour, (I will post pictures.) I was fascinated to learn about the history of not only the festival but how Jacob's Pillow began. Later in the afternoon, I learned where my office is... I have two!
My first office is in The Annex, where I will work on day to day tasks for the marketing department. My second office is in The Box Office, where I manage tickets, exchanges, and helping to make sure the shows sell out!
After learning the work place I attended my first department meeting...

Wednesday, May 22, 2013 - Marketing Department Weekly Meeting: 4:00pm - 5:30pm
The meeting began with more introductions, here is what caught my attention!
Mariclare: Director of Marketing & Communications
- Studied as an English major, PR minor, Dance minor
- Began career as an agent
- Values honesty and grace under pressure
Alyssa: Press Editorial
- Started working at CMU writing grants and then moved into Media Relations
- Likes to use lists to keep organized and know what needs to be done
Greg: Social Media Coordinator
- Spent the summer before college as a House Manager: helped change his career path
- Graduated with a BFA in Play-writing
- Is a morning person
Katherine: Graphic Designs
- Studied media-fine arts
- Works best with headphones
Melanie:Ticket Services
- Changed her undergrad major 5 times, ended up in broadcasting
- Enjoys multitasking
Tips to Survive This Summer from Mariclare
1) We Are A TEAM !
2) Accept criticism
3) Establish long-term and short-term goals
4) Ask questions - "I can't help if you do not ask"
